Depth of the spirit is about having a relationship with the Lord. It's not enough just for us as people to cry out Lord but to actually have been spiritual communion with God that convicts us and allows us to properly live, love, and walk uprightly. The Holy Spirit is the only person that can birth you into that intimacy with God, not an act or a show but an actual communication of our heart to the heart of God
